These complimentary services are provided by Lesley Estran our reflexologist who qualified as a Therapeutic Reflexologist in South Africa 15 years ago. Lesley has also gone on to further specialise on REPRODUCTIVE REFLEXOLOGY in Ireland and Northern Ireland. Reflexology is one of the best known antidotes for stress.

Reflexology is a system of massage used to promote healing, relieve tension and pain and treat illness, based on the theory that there are reflex points on the feet, hands, and head linked to every part of the body. Reflexology does this by stimulating the nerves in the body and encouraging the flow of blood. By stimulating these predefined pressure points on the feet and hands with this controlled pressure, the source of the discomfort can often be alleviated.

These pressure points are reputed to connect directly through the nervous system and affect the bodily organs and glands. The reflexologist manipulates the pressure points according to specific techniques of reflexology therapy. By means of this touching therapy, any part of the body that is the source of pain, illness, or potential debility can be strengthened through the application of pressure at the respective foot or hand location.

In the absence of any particular malady or abnormality, reflexology may be as effective for promoting good health and for preventing illness as it may be for relieving symptoms of stress, injury, and illness.

The Amazing Benefits of REFLEXOLOGY

Bacteria are survivors!!! They have been around for more than three billion years. They have adapted and they have become drug resistant. Thankfully there are ways of addressing the problem: The most appropriate way of healing, is for the body to heal itself. This way the immune system is not compromised.

This can be achieved by holistic therapies.

The aim of the treatments is not only to cure health problems but to balance the body and prevent illness occurring. These therapies ease tension, reduce inflammation, improve circulation and eliminate toxins. When all this is achieved we will be in a much better position to fight infections.

Complimentary therapies are more popular than ever before as many people are taking a more active role in improving and maintaining their health and well being.

The following ailments respond very well to our therapies:
  • Infections
  • anxiety
  • muscular aches and pains
  • backache

Complimentary treatments can do much to improve a person's mental attitude and to ease stress.

Reflexology For Sub-Fertility

When I moved to Ireland 14 years ago, I found there seemed to be a problem with fertility. I did some investigation and research and then started to study all aspects of this problem. I found numerous factors that seemed to have an influence on this.

In July 05 I undertook a pilot fertility study. I invited 8 couples with this problem to have 8 complimentary sessions each. The results were amazing!

Of the 8 ladies in the initial study, 4 fell pregnant within the 8-treatment course. Their ages were from 34 to 38 years. They had been trying to fall pregnant for between 2 to 5 years. Since the study, with a few more treatments all but one have now conceived.

I was delighted with the results so proceeded with my investigations. I did all the courses I could find on the subject but mainly undertook my own studies reading everything I could get my hands on.

I also remembered what my lecturer in South Africa had told us about her own experience. She had been trying for 4.5 years to fall pregnant, (she had one son) someone told her to try reflexology and after only 1 treatment she fell pregnant. Unfortunately it is not always that quick but due to this she decided to become a Reflexologist herself and is now the chair person for the world reflexology institute. She always told us to warn our clients who did not want to fall pregnant that reflexology is very powerful.

The main things reflexology appears to do is balance the hormones, unblock any congestion, increase energy flow to vital organs, cleanse the uterus and bowels and other factors that we may not even be unaware of and it's relaxing!!! Clients have found that their cycles become more stable and their periods heavier thus giving the uterus a good clean out.

The 2nd big factor I have found in my investigations is that there is an estrogen dominance which suppresses the progesterone. So even if your 21 day test come back normal, most people are borderline and these levels must be excellent to maintain a pregnancy. This is often the reason periods are late. You have conceived but due to low progesterone levels don't maintain it.

Progesterone makes possible the survival of the fertilized egg, maintains the lining of the uterus during pregnancy and is vital for the development of the foetus. If the levels are not high enough miscarriage occurs. Hence late periods if just in the very early stages.

Reasons why there is so commonly a progesterone deficiency is oestrogen dominance caused by exhaust fumes, pesticides, face and body creams, household cleaning products, sprays, aluminum pots and many more. The oestrogen suppresses the production of progesterone that is why it is so common a problem now, as opposed to 50 years ago.

I recommend a progesterone cream which is safe and natural and is almost the same as the one we naturally produce. The progesterone found in drugs is not natural and has many serious side effects. Estrogen dominance causes endometriosis and other problems.

So what my course of treatments offer ...... a thorough examination of all aspects of health of both partners to try and pinpoint any problems, bottles of specially blended aromatherapy oils for home use, the reflexology sessions and I strongly advise progesterone therapy in a lot of cases as well. After the investigation it can usually be established if progesterone is needed. I have had excellent results with this combination. During sessions, all the points for unblocking energy flow to the uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries are thoroughly worked. The endocrine system is also meticulously examined for any imbalances.

The treatments consist of 2 bottles of specially blended aromatherapy oils for home massage, bathing etc. and a list of lifestyle advice (found to be very useful for fertility). I work through all aspects of the cycle, health history and family history and we can often pinpoint a small but significant problem and then work through it.

I encourage both partners get involved to further enhance the chances of pregnancy.
